A British tourist, 42, was killed and his son, 15, seriously injured in a traffic accident on Corfu on Tuesday.
The accident occurred at 14:00 on the central rural road of Roda-Acharavi near Almyros. The man was driving an ATV (quad bike) with his son accompanying him when the vehicle went off the road for unknown reasons and crashed in an olive grove.
Police and the Fire Department were on the scene directly and freed the driver, who had lost consciousness, and his child. The man was driven to the regional medical office of Acharavi and from there to the Hospital of Corfu, while EKAV ambulance personnel tried to keep him alive.
A doctor arrived from the Acharavi office to assist the second ambulance staff transport the teenager to the Hospital of Corfu.
