With a turnaround in the second 45 minutes, the Algerian national football team defeated Jordan 2-1 (ed. note: it was eliminated from the match) and keeps its hopes of qualifying for the “32” of the 2026 World Cup intact, from the 10th group of the tournament.
The match, which was held in Santa Clara, USA, started off ideally for Jordan, as they took the lead through Nizar Alrasdan in the 36th minute, but Algeria, who struggled to create scoring opportunities for most of the match, turned the tables with goals from Nadir Benbouali (69`) and Amin Ghouri (82`).
With this result, Argentina secured first place in the group, while Algeria will face Austria with the “prize” of second place, in Saturday’s match, which will take place in Kansas City, and in the event of a draw, it favors both opponents.
