Emergency services and the Fire Department were at the scene, with his death due to pathological causes.

A 70-year-old man’s hike in the Rouvas forest had a tragic ending, as he suddenly collapsed in front of his wife and lost his life.

According to information, the unfortunate man, of German origin, was in the area with his wife for a walk, when he felt unwell and collapsed . The EKAB and the Fire Department were immediately notified , as the initial information even spoke of a possible traffic accident in the wider area, with his wife calling 112 for help . 

However, when the authorities were called, it was determined that the 70-year-old had suffered a serious incident and lost consciousness , without any traffic accident being involved.

The man was taken to the Agia Varvara Health Center , where doctors pronounced him dead, as he was already dead upon arrival.

The same information states that his death is likely attributed to pathological causes , however the exact causes are expected to be clarified by the autopsy and forensic examination.
