Ecuador attacked for 90 minutes, but fell against the “wall” called Eloy Rum. The Curacao goalkeeper caught the… elusive and was the absolute protagonist of the big surprise of Group 5. The 0-0 draw in Kansas may have probably meant the Caribbean team’s elimination (they will have to beat Ivory Coast to qualify), but the Advocaat players celebrated with all their hearts!
As for Ecuador, they also need a miracle, namely a victory over Germany in the last matchday. They will forever remember that the opposing goalkeeper made 15 (!) saves, the most in this year’s tournament and certainly one of the most recorded in the annals of the World Cup.
