The Turkish national team bid farewell to the 2026 World Cup with a prestigious victory, as they prevailed in Los Angeles, USA, 3-2, for the 3rd and final matchday of the 4th group.
The “hosts”, who had secured first place in the group before the start of the match, took the lead in just the third minute with a goal, but Arda Guler equalized in the 10th minute, while in the 31st minute Yilmaz achieved the turnaround, giving Turkey the lead.
At the start of the second 45 minutes, the Americans quickly equalized (49`) with Beralter, while afterwards, and since there was no significant stake, the players of both teams tried to play free football.
And while everything pointed to a “satisfactory” draw, in the eighth minute of injury time, Ayhan scored and gave Turkey its only victory in the competition.
