OFYPEKA recommends special caution to visitors to the Samaria National Park on Thursday, June 18, 2026 due to a forecast of intense instability and strong gusts of wind in the area.

The Natural Environment and Climate Change Organization is advising visitors to the Samaria National Park to exercise increased caution due to the weather conditions predicted for tomorrow, Thursday, June 18, 2026.

According to the updated forecast of the Hellenic Meteorological Service, instability with strong gusts of wind is expected along the gorge, which makes it necessary for those planning to visit it to exercise increased caution.

OFYPEKA invites visitors to enter the National Park at their own risk and to take all necessary personal protection measures, both upon entry and during their stay within the boundaries of the National Park.

In case of worsening weather conditions, a further announcement will follow tomorrow morning, at 06:30.

The warning mainly concerns the safety of hikers, as strong winds in mountainous and canyon areas can increase the risk during the crossing.
