Weather: Summer “invasion” from the first day of June – Rising temperatures and sunshine throughout the country

Clear weather, rising temperatures and ideal conditions for excursions compose the scene for the next few days. Sunshine dominates in Crete, while high temperatures will persist almost all week

Summer conditions and rising temperatures will prevail during the Holy Spirit weekend and the first days of June, with the weather remaining generally clear in most areas of the country. Despite local cloudiness that will develop mainly during the midday and afternoon hours in the mainland, the phenomena will be limited and will mainly concern mountainous areas.

In Crete , the weather is expected to be ideal for excursions and activities on beaches and in the countryside, as sunshine will prevail throughout the day. Only in the mountainous parts of the island may temporary clouds appear during the hottest hours, without however causing any notable phenomena.

The temperature will show a slight increase, with maximum values in Crete reaching up to 28 degrees Celsius, while in the rest of the country they will reach 33 and 34 degrees in places. Winds will blow mainly from the west and southwest, reaching locally 5 Beaufort in the seas.

This scenario is expected to continue in the coming days, with temperatures remaining at high levels for the season and only from Thursday a temporary change is evident in the western, central and northern parts of the country, where local rains and storms are forecast. In Crete, however, no significant change is discernible, with the weather remaining basically summer-like.
