On Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 June 2026, a two-day Cultural Festival dedicated to music and the Cretan Vineyard will take place at Akra Square in Venerato, Heraklion Prefecture.
With admission, the tasting is free for the public.
Venerato, which is a region with a great tradition and deep roots in viticulture and wine production, honors the Cretan vineyard and its wealth in its own unique way.
Two evenings are dedicated to music and wine in the beautiful square of Akra, according to the following program:
On Saturday, June 20th at 9:00 PM, the official opening of the Veneratos summer events will take place at Akra Square, followed by a beautiful evening with live music.
On Sunday, June 21, an evening dedicated to Cretan Wine will take place. Leading wine producers will be at Akra Square from the afternoon, presenting their labels, the public will be able to taste and enjoy fine local varieties such as Liatiko, Vidiano and Kotsifali and will have the opportunity to learn from the best about the richness and quality of the Cretan Vineyard, while a DJ will provide the evening’s music.
This year, particular emphasis is placed on connecting with the scientific community, as students from the Department of Agriculture of ELMEPA have been invited to participate, while the new generation of oenologists is also given the opportunity to network with renowned professionals in the industry.
