Successive tremors of magnitude 4.4 and 4.0 near Kassos

An earthquake of magnitude 4.4 on the Richter scale was recorded in the sea near the island of Kassos at 16:34 on Saturday, according to an announcement by the Geodynamics Institute of the National Observatory of Athens (NOA). The epicenter of the tremor was located 384 km southeast of Athens and 29 km west of Kassos.
This was followed by a second tremor of magnitude 4.0 near the island at 17:40 on Saturday, at a distance of 381 km southeast of Athens and with an epicenter located 30 km west of Kassos.
