A search and rescue operation has been ongoing on Mount Olympus since Wednesday afternoon following the report of a missing 25-year-old Spanish national climber.
The climber is believed to have been journeying from a mountain refuge to the summit when he did not reach his intended destination. His father raised the alarm after reporting him missing to the Spanish consulate, which subsequently alerted police in Litochoro in Pieria, Macedonia.
Fourteen firefighters have been deployed, alongside drone support, as search efforts continue.
