Diktaion Antron opens to visitors on Friday

Working meeting in the Region of Crete for the operation of Diktaion Andros in the presence of the Minister of Culture

CRETE: A working meeting was held today in the Region of Crete, under the chairmanship of the Minister of Culture Lina Mendoni , on the operation of the archaeological site of Diktaion Andros on the Lassithi Plateau .

The meeting was attended by the Governor of Crete Stavros Arnaoutakis, the Mayor of Lassithi Plateau Giorgos Athanasakis , the Secretary General of the Ministry of Culture Giorgos Didaskalou , officials from the Ministry of Culture, the Region of Crete, the Municipality of Lassithi Plateau, as well as representatives of the company “Daedalus”.

Free admission for the public on the first days of operation

As decided during the working meeting, the Diktaion Andron will open tomorrow, Friday, May 29, 2026, to welcome visitors.

From Friday, May 29, 2026, until June 7 , 2026 , entrance to the cave and the visit to its renovated area will be free .

From June 8, 2026 and for the remainder of the tourist season, the provided ticket will be valid.
