The Athens Concert Hall (Megaro Moussikis) will live stream three concerts related to the ‘Adagio-Music’ cycle for the Greek Orthodox Easter provided to the public for free, it said on Tuesday.
– “From the Passion to the Resurrection, Easter Music” (Sunday, April 25) includes the Concert Hall’s organist Ourania Gasiou, who will perform excerpts of works for church organ by Bach, Brahms, Demessieux and Johnson. – Rare but known Baroque compositions will be performed by the Ex Silentio group (Monday of Holy Week, April 26), recreating the performance of the times on original instruments or copies of them, including Baroque violin and cello. The group, which includes mezzo soprano Theodora Baka, will perform concerts and sonatas among others of Biber, Vivaldi, Handel, Purcell and Telemann.
