Main opposition SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance leader Alexis Tsipras, in an interview with ANT1 TV on Wednesday, said that there were “serious responsibilities” for the failures of the government’s planning and the way it handled the pandemic.
“Easter this year will also be difficult, we all need optimism but I cannot say that it is easy to create an artificial optimism with everything that is happening,” Tsipras commented and added that “unfortunately, something is wrong”.
The main opposition leader noted that, all this time, the government “has operated without a plan or a strategy, without serious epidemiological surveillance, with sources for superspreading the virus open throughout the lockdown.”
“From the first moment we made proposals,” he pointed out, adding that the opposition has fulfilled its own obligations.
